Welcome to Centennial High School Music!

Centennial High School is Calgary opened its doors in September 2004. Since that time, the Centennial Music Department has much to be proud of and we hope that you are encouraged to check out even more of our website to learn even more of what we have done and what we are about.

First and foremost, the main goal of the Centennial High School Music Department is:

"To help students gain a life-long love and appreciation for music."

How do we do that you ask? We give you the opportunity to perform some great and challenging music in a variety of settings that will increase your musical skill and understanding to the point that you can enjoy and appreciate music-making in not only your high school years but for the rest of your life.

Beyond learning how to read and interpret music notation, our focus is on learning about, understanding and appreciating many different styles of music. We offer students the opportunity to perform in a variety of large and small ensembles that explore many different styles and perform in settings including concerts, workshops, festivals, recitals, camps, recordings and tours.

In Centennial Music’s relatively short history we are proud to have had many world-renowned musicians work with our students and have also been the recipient of many awards for our performances.

So…If you love music, work hard, like to travel and most of all, enjoy time well-spent with great people we would love to have you join us!

Again, check out more of our website to learn even more of what we are about.
