Student Bulletin

October 19-23, 2020

We are looking for a few Cadets who are interested in participating in this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony.  Please contact Ms.Shaffer (you can find her in Resource or her office at the far east of the Learning Commons) as soon as possible.

Speech and Debate club – if you are interested in joining, please come to a meeting at lunch on Wednesday in the learning commons.  For more information see Mrs. Hayward.

Yearbooks from last school year are in.  Copies were handed out last week if you had ordered one.  Please check with the main office or Ms.Toblan if unsure.  We do have a few extras that can be purchased for $40.

Spanish challenge exam meeting:

Students that have studied in a Spanish bilingual school, or who are native speakers, have the opportunity of challenging the 3 years of Spanish offered in high school and earn the corresponding credits for these classes. If you meet this profile and are interested in the challenge exam, you will need to attend a mandatory meeting Monday in room 109 at lunch. For more information, contact Ms. Engel in room 109.

Alex Bus is coming back!!! Students wishing to book an appointment must come down to Guidance and see Ms. Day.  Students are not permitted to go out to the bus and walk on.  You will be called down from your classes when it is your appointment time.  For more information about the bus visit https://www.thealex.ca/youth-health-bus/.

Clothing Drive:  Central Memorial and CTC students will be accepting plastic bags of clothing donations over the next few weeks. We are looking for high school-aged clothing in particular (no kids clothing please). Clothing should be washed and brought to the school in a tied plastic bag – like a garbage bag. There will be a drop-off box located outside the main office of both Central Memorial and the CTC starting on Monday, October 19 until October 29.

Parking passes – you must have a valid parking pass in your vehicle in the school parking lots. The parking lots are monitored, and tickets will be issued. Please ensure that you have purchased a yearly pass, which is available through your PowerSchool fee module.

See Something, Say Something.  If you are having an issue on Calgary Transit, please text them at 74100.  Discreetly report safety and security concerns with your issue and location and they will dispatch people out to help you.

Bus route 699 and 732 have revised schedules. Please check the website for new schedules or the bulletin board outside of main office.

Scholarship deadlines are fast approaching.  Visit https://www.educationmatters.c... or see
