Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-6424 ext. 1

Notify the School

If your child will be absent from or late for school, please call the attendance line. Advise the teacher, but also notify the office. Please leave us a detailed message including:

  • Your name
  • Your child’s name
  • Date
  • Reason for the absence

If you do not leave a reason for the absence, your child will be marked as an unexcused absence.

Regular and Punctual Attendance

We know that students are most successful at school when they attend regularly and on-time. These are two important work habits to develop early and to sustain throughout both school and in the work environment.

Parents are asked to ensure that children arrive at school on time so that they enter with their classmates through the assigned doors, begin the day calmly and respect the learning of their classmates. Our front doors are for students who arrive late due to scheduled appointments. All students who are late for class are required to report to the office for a late slip.

If your child will be late or absent please call our absence line and leave your recorded message including the reason for the absence and the length of time the child will be away. If no reason is given, it will be marked as an unexcused absence. The absence line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please do not leave a message on the teacher’s voicemail. If your child is absent and there is no message on our absence line our office staff will contact families at the numbers provided by parents.

When your children are ill, please keep them home until they have recuperated so that illness does not spread. We hope that when children return they will be able to fully participate in the life of the school. If there are unusual circumstances please send a note with your child so that our staff is aware of what needs to be modified.

If you do not leave a reason on the attendance line, the absence will be marked unexcused.
