December 19, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On December 19, we were informed
that an individual in Ms. Polychroniadou’s grade 1 class, room 5, tested
positive for COVID-19. This individual rides bus C.
We were also informed that an
individual in Mr. Vuong’s grade 6 class, room 13 tested positive for COVID-19.
This individual rides bus C.
We believe the dates of exposure
were December 15, 16 and 17. If your child is part of Ms. Polychroniadou’s grade 1 class or Mr.
Vuong’s grade 6 class and was in attendance on any of those dates, your child is required to isolate
until January 1st (based on exposure on December 17th).
If your child rode bus C on Dec 15, 16 or 17, they will also need to isolate
until January 1st (based on Dec. 17 exposure).
Other household members are not required to isolate unless they are displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19. If you or others in your home have any of these symptoms, please complete the online Alberta Health Services (AHS) COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.
Alberta has imposed stronger health restrictions province-wide as of Dec. 13. More information about these restrictions can be found on the AHS website.

School “Watch” Communication | Dec. 3, 2020
Our school has been marked by the Alberta government as a “watch” on the COVID-19 School Status Map.
If a school with an outbreak experiences five or more cases, the government will identify it as a “watch” on the map, and the municipality that school is located in will turn blue. It is important to remember that the ‘watch’ status does not mean there is ongoing transmission in a school, nor does it mean the school is not following public health guidance.
Our school will be removed from the ‘watch’ status when the outbreak is declared over. The standard time frame is 28 days with no new cases from the date the outbreak was declared. A notification will come from the Zone Medical Officer of Health.
Our school continues to follow all direction from Alberta Health Services. We remain committed to working together to both support our students and staff within the school, as well as those who are at home.

Pre-Alert Community Letter
December 2, 2020
We have been notified by a family or staff member that a positive case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in an individual from Chief Justice Milvain school. At this time, the school does not have official confirmation from Alberta Health Services (AHS).
The school has already contacted each family or staff member affected by the positive case, and AHS will be following up only with those individuals. If you were not contacted, your child(ren) are not affected by the positive case.
Our school remains open to in-person learning for all students, and we are working to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and students. This includes the cleaning and disinfecting of all items touched by the individual, and the removal and storage of all items that cannot be cleaned and disinfected (paper, books, etc.) in a sealed container for a minimum of 72 hours.
All students impacted by the positive case will be supported in maintaining course work during the designated period online. They will not join Hub online learning.
We remind parents/guardians of students to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.The Alberta Health daily checklist can be found here. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.
If you/your child has any of the symptoms of illness listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811 and stay home/keep your child at home.
We will continue to provide additional information to parents / guardians as it is available.
