Fine Arts

In October, students will continue to develop their oral language abilities with the work of our improv artist, Mat Mailandt.  We are fortunate that he is bilingual so our immersion students have the additional opportunity to develop spontaneous conversation in French. As this residency comes to a close, parents will be invited to one of their child's last classes working with Mat to showcase their improv skills.

Our STEM residency on coding also begins later this month and unlike many of our other residencies, it will continue in small chunks throughout the year. The intention behind this is for students and teacher to continue building their numeracy and critical thinking skills and develop their capacity and confidence over the course of the year.

We are grateful for both of these opportunities that are possible through the generous support of our School Council who raises money through initiatives like the cheque writing campaign and casino.
