Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.​​​

VIRTUAL Student-Teacher-Parent Conferences for students at Chinook Park School (Nov. 19/20, 2020)


* Please note that HUB students across the CBE will have conferences in December 3 and 4.  More news to follow via your child’s HUB teacher. Please do not book into these conferences as there will be a separate date/ time for HUB classes.

To accommodate conferences, there will be no classes on Friday, November 20.  Thursday November 19 will be a full day of school for students.

Conference Times:

  • Thursday November 19  (3:00-7:00 pm)
  • Friday November 20   (8:00 – 12:00 pm)

Booking window:

Friday November 13 starting at 6:00 pm to Wednesday November 18 ending at 6:00 pm.

Bookings must be done through the CBE Parent Portal in PowerSchool.  Parents will access the conference booking through their My CBE Account.

Given the meetings are virtual using Microsoft Teams, parents are asked to please consider having a ten-minute break in between interviews to maximize their time with a teacher.

If a teacher becomes completely booked, please e-mail teachers using our Staff List

To support the process on November 19th and 20th, we ask that parents please: 

a.  preload 'Microsoft Teams' onto your digital device.  b.  review your child's progress in PowerSchool prior to the interview.  What question(s) may you have?  c.  in the event 'Microsoft Teams' doesn't work, please provide a parent's cell phone number in the 'notes' section when booking the interview.  As a backup, the teacher will call you.  d.  when a teacher invites you into the meeting, please keep your camera on.  We would like visual confirmation that a parent is present.  e.  include your child in the discussions.  A conversation with the student, family and teacher tends to be the most effective.  f.  interviews are 10 minutes long and are back to back.  Teachers will do their best to stay on time.  Parents can only log in to Microsoft Teams 5 minutes prior to the interview starting. 

g. if you are a CBE employee, using your CBE email, please do not log into your Student Conference until the exact time of your meeting, otherwise you will interrupt the current meeting as you do not have the waiting room access. We appreciate your participation in our virtual interviews.  We also recognize technology challenges may emerge.  Please provide your cell phone as a backup.

​How to Book a School Conference

  1. Log-in to MyCBE / PowerSchool​.

    If you do not have an account, follow the Create a MyCBE Account​ instructions.

  2. Click on the My School Conferences icon.

  3. Click on the time slot that is available and convenient for you. Ensure pop-up windows are allowed.

  4. In the pop-up window, you will choose your child (you have the option to enter the student's name), the name of the parent / guardian is pre-filled, but can also be changed.​​​​

​​Create a MyCBE/PowerSchool Account

  1. Go to and click on the “Create Parent Account” link.

    Important: the email that you are using to create your account must be the same one you have provided to the school. If you are unsure, please contact the school office.

  2. Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email. 

  3. After your account is confirmed, you can login to the system.​

CBE to Recognize National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sept. 30: #yycbe #WeAreCBE

Calendar Update | Thursday, Sept. 30 will be a non-operational day to commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation across the CBE. This means there will be no classes and schools will be closed for the day. #yycbe
