There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Fundraisers & Donations

Our Parent Society’s major fundraising event is a Casino night, once approximately every year and a half.  Our Fundraising Coordinator on the School Council is Chris Paavola.  He will request parent/caregiver volunteers to participate in this fun event closer to the date of the next Casino night.

Our School Council runs Fundscrip twice a year.    Notices with order forms are sent home to parents/caregivers in November, and in April/May.  This fundraiser sells gift cards to participants, with a portion of each sale coming to the school.

Christine Meikle School has participated in the Farm to Table fund raiser this year.  This program sells fresh vegetables to participants at a great price point and is a perfect match for the school’s healthy eating initiative.  There are a few different options available to purchase, along with the option to purchase a package that goes to the Calgary Food Bank.  Vegetable orders are delivered prior to Thanksgiving.


Christine Meikle School happily receives donations from anyone who wishes to support the work our school does with our students. 

  • Cash/Cheque donations over $25 will receive a tax receipt.  Please make donation cheques payable to the Calgary Board of Education, and write “Christine Meikle School donation, charitable number 10683-0128-RR0002” on the memo line.
  • In kind donations are also gratefully received! Please contact our school principal to learn what items are needed at this time.  Tax receipts can also be provided for in kind donations

Ways to give to our school include:

Monetary (cash) donation

  • I wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
    • Visit the EducationMatters online donation webpage to make a donation. (Preferred donation method)
    • Write a cheque payable to EducationMatters  (all one word) and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school or mail it to: EducationMatters, 1221 8 Street SW Calgary, AB T2R 0L4
  • I do not wish to receive a tax receipt for my donation
    • ​Write a cheque made payable to Calgary Board of Education  and include the name of our school and the specific program, activity or item you want your donation to support in the 'memo' section. Give the cheque to the school.

In-kind donations of school supplies or equipment 

  • ​Contact our principal to ensure these supplies or equipment  are needed and can be used by the school.  ​
