If your child is going to be late or absent, please call the attendance line and slowly and clearly:
- Spell the child’s first and last name
- State the reason for the absence
- Tell us your relationship to the student
Ensure that you are not using a hands-free device and that the phone you are using is clear of static and noise so that we can understand the message. If we can’t understand your message the student’s absence will be recorded as unexcused. Any unexcused absences will receive a call home notifying parents or guardians of the absence.
Regular attendance contributes to success at school. Occasional absences such as illnesses and appointments are understandable and unavoidable. Consistent punctuality is a shared responsibility of students, parents/guardians, and school staff. Students are expected to attend and arrive on time for school every day.
Please speak to your children about the importance of being on time, as it is disruptive to their own learning as well as to the entire class with late arrivals. Kids strive best on routine! To ensure you receive attendance messages regarding your child’s late/absences each day, please ensure your contact telephone numbers and email addresses are up to date with the school.
