We follow the CBE traditional calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.​

The Calgary Board of Education continues to plan for the health measures that may be in place for the next school year. More details will be shared with families before the first day of classes.

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes 

First Day of School in September, 2021:

  • Grades 1 – 6:  A reminder that our first day of school is Wednesday, September 1, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.  
  • Kindergarten:   Students will have a staggered entry for the first week of September.  Individual letters outlining dates and times have been sent home. 

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students will have a staggered entry from Wednesday, September 1 - Thursday, September 2, 2021  

Parents/Guardians of students who have already registered their children for the 2021 - 2022 school year should have received their individual letters outlining start dates and times. 

The staggered entry will allow for teachers to have smaller groups and for students and parents to become familiar with the classroom and their new teachers. 

There will be no school for Kindergarten students on Friday Sept. 3, 2021, while the teachers formulate the class lists.

Please call the school office for an appointment at 403-777-6710 (starting Friday, August 27, 2021) or email your registration form to coloneljfredscott@cbe.ab.ca with supporting documents (birth certificate or government issued document as well as Proof of Residency in our Whitehorn designated area).

Noon Supervision

Colonel J. Fred Scott offers a Noon Supervision Program.  Students must register in this program prior to attending.

The yearly cost for the 4-day program is $285.00 total. The fee is to be paid on-line through your MY CBE / PowerSchool parent account at https://sis.cbe.ab.ca/public.  You MUST register your child prior to him/her attending the program and paying for the program.  Registration will be available online here during the summer. Breakfast Program

Our school offers a Breakfast Program for students whose parents are unable to provide their children with a nutritional breakfast. This program, which is free of charge, runs from 8:15 - 8:30 AM, Monday to Friday.

​​Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and lunch supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

​​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2021-22 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
