Update from School Council Chair: Casino Success!!!
A big shout out to Monique G., our Casino Chair, and the 22 parents who filled the volunteer positions at the Casino Fundraiser! This is such a unique opportunity to raise a huge amount of funds in just two days! Our On-site Adviser estimated that our efforts on Sept 10 & 11 would bring in about $55,000 for our kids! Amazing! While some of the shifts vary in length each shift raises about $2000.00. Below is how that amount breaks down per volunteer! Some parents did two shifts!

Thank you also to everyone who signed up to be back-ups. Luckily all of our position holders were able to make their shifts which allowed things to run smoothly. I learned a lot at this event - volunteer roles are crucial and hold the Casino Operator and the Alberta Government accountable to the community. It was great experience and I hope to see you at our next Casino Fundraiser in March 2023.

Grade 1 students have been working with the Bee Bots. Not only are they learning to code, but they are learning how to:
- persevere through challenges
- work in groups
- share thinking around programming
- think from another perspective (that of the bee and it's turns)
- leadership is emerging within the groups
