Students supplies are provided by the school for children in kindergarten through Grade 6.

Your child will need to have a labeled backpack, a labeled lunch bag with a lunch and a healthy snack. Your child will need a labeled pair of black indoor shoes (only one pair of shoes are needed, ones that are appropriate for physical activity in the gym and are all black).  Students DO NOT need two pairs of shoes.  All TLC clothing items must be labeled. All the other supplies will be supplied at school.

School Calendar

View our School Calendar for upcoming events and dates. See the CBE website for system calendars.

Assigned Teachers

At the end of August, teachers will connect with families to introduce themselves and welcome their new students*. On August 31, 2023 teachers will outside holding a large sign with their name (and class name) so that students can gather close to their teacher. When the bell rings, they will move to their classrooms. Administration will be available to assist parents/children who cannot find their teacher. In the event of inclement weather everyone will meet in the gym, if possible.

* Please Note |  Due to the dynamics in the classroom and the school, there may be the need to make a few adjustments to class lists once school has started. Changes may occur to ensure that all classes within a grade level are balanced based on the dynamics within the grade level and each class room.

Homework

Homework will not be assigned until after the September Non-Instructional Day. Please see the student agenda and classroom Google Classroom for further information.

Uniforms

Students are expected to wear their formal uniform on the first day of classes. Formal dress, including black shoes, is required on every Monday or the first day of the school week, when students are out of the school for field trips (with the exclusion of swimming and bowling), and on the days on which an assembly is held. Students are expected to wear their uniform on a daily basis unless it is a casual day. Please remember only one pair of non-scuffing black shoes appropriate for the gym is required.

Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

Yellow School Bus Transportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2023-24 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

More information about 2023-24 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed. Should routes change or if qualified students are added to a route and the bus becomes overcrowded, conditional riders may be removed to accommodate these changes.

Learn more about transportation on the CBE website.
