One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Parent societies are a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.

Parent Society

Our Parent Society is Known as the

Friends of Connaught Community School Association.

All event fundraising activities are managed by the Association.

Council updates | September 2022

Casino Results

The Friends of Connaught Community School Association are very excited to share with you that the fundraising casino from August 2021 has raised $76,187.12 for the school! The School Council will continue to work closely with Mrs Bezugley to ensure that the funds  are allocated to the areas of most need within our learning community. Stay tuned for updates of where and how we are spending this money! Thank you again to all of the parents and friends who helped us to staff the casino. It was a pleasure getting to know you all, and I hope we can count on you for our next casino!

Future Casino Volunteer Chairperson

If you loved your time volunteering for the casino, and are a whiz at organizing people, then I encourage you to volunteer to be the Casino Chairperson for the next casino. I am happy to work with you between now and then to prepare for the casino. Please email me if you are interested in taking on this responsibility. Thank you!

Fundraising Society update

The Parent Society is the fundraising group associated with Connaught School, and is primarily responsible for managing the Casino.

Volunteer Opportunities

As always, please keep your eyes open for volunteer opportunities around the school. We will put out a call for volunteers to help with the Spring Celebration, pizza day, multicultural potluck and popcorn day. We can’t do these great events without you!
