John G. Diefenbaker will be hosting an IB Information Night on Thursday, November 18th for all students interested in attending the IB program in the 2022-23 school year. 2021 - 2022 School Year Information
Welcome to students and families looking to join our John G. Diefenbaker Community in September 2021!
A new version of the CBE IB Expression of Interest form has been posted under 'Links' on the right hand side of this page.
A new High School Transfer package is expected to be released at the end of January. The previous version of the transfer form cannot be accepted at this time.
We look forward to accepting the IB Expression of Interest form and/or High School Transfer form between February 1st, 2021 and March 15th, 2021 (deadline for both forms).
YOU ARE INVITED
You are invited to attend The Chinese Academy 1st Annual Virtual IB Information Session. During this Information Session you will be presented with an introduction and overview of our school:
- Our TCA Mandarin & Cantonese language classes
- Our IB Chinese Program at TCA, the only school in Calgary that offers IB Chinese courses
- Our TCA culturally inspired option programs - Badminton, Martial Arts, Dance, Yoga and much more
- Our TCA English & Mathematics tutorial classes

Chinese Information Session - Friday, January 29th, 2021
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Registration: It is "first come-first served". The maximum capacity is 100 participants.
Guests: You are most welcome to invite your older children, any family members and friends who are interested in learning more about all our exciting 2021-2022 programs that we continue to offer.

Knowledge & Employability (K&E) Course Registration
If your child is designated to James Fowler High School, simply make an appointment with a James Fowler High School guidance counsellor, and they can help your child register for K&E courses. If your child is not designated to James Fowler High School, you will need to go to your child’s designated high school in order to pick up a CBE school transfer form before making an appointment with a James Fowler High School guidance counsellor. How to Register for the Arts-Centered Learning Program
- Registration for the 2021-22 school year starts on January 11, 2021.
- Use our Find a School tool to find your designated school.
- Attend a parent information session and/or view informational presentation. Details on your school's website, see links below.
For families that are new to the CBE and not Canadian citizens, please note you must first attend the CBE Welcome Centre for an initial assessment prior to registering for an Alternative Program.
