Parking is very limited at Crescent Heights High School and as such, students wanting to park on the school property are required to make application.
To be considered eligible for a parking pass, students making application must:
- hold a Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License as of October 6, 2022 and
- have paid their school fees through the Business Office or online by the October 6 application deadline.
- Parking applications must be submitted in person to the Crescent Heights Main Office between September 12, 2022 and October 6, 2022
Please note that due to the limited parking stalls available, priority will be given to students enrolled in Grade 12. Limited parking requires all students to have arranged alternate transportation to and from school in the event they do not receive a parking pass.
Completed application forms received by 3:00 PM. October 6 will be placed in a lottery draw and the successful applicants will be posted. Late applications will not be considered. A $40.00+gst annual parking fee is to be paid to the Business Office in order for the successful applicants to be issued their parking pass. Parking passes not paid for and picked up will be re-distributed.
Parking Regulations
The following conditions must be adhered to while parking in the northwest school parking lot:
- Parking passes are issued by administration to students and are non-transferable. If you get a different vehicle, please update all the information with the Main Office.
- The parking pass must be displayed on the rear view mirror of your parked car at all times. Students who park in the school parking lot without a visible parking pass are subject to ticketing from the Calgary Parking Authority. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure the parking pass is in the car that’s being driven. If it means moving the pass to another vehicle, make sure to do so as the school will not be intervening with the Parking Authority if a ticket is issued.
- Student parking is only available in the northwest parking lot of the school with the following exclusion: students are not permitted to park in the parking spots bordering the Crescent Heights Community Hall and the posted Visitor Parking area. Parking in the Fire Lane is strictly prohibited and subject to ticketing and/or towing of your vehicle.
- Parking spots are not assigned and parking passes do not necessarily guarantee a parking spot at the school. Alternative arrangements for parking must be planned in this event.
- Replacement parking passes are subject to a fee of $40.00+gst.
- Students are not allowed to loiter in or around their vehicles during the day. The parking lot is not to be used as a place to hang out or eat food.
- No loud music is permitted from cars.
- Vehicles are not allowed to occupy more than one parking spot at one time, NO double/angle parking.
- Careless driving, stunting, or speeding is not allowed.
- Parking pass may be revoked for such infractions
Parking in the school parking lot is not a student’s right – it is a privilege based upon appropriate conduct by the pass holder. Administration reserves the right to revoke parking privileges at any time.
