International Students

We are excited that you have chosen to study with us at Crescent Heights High School located in the heart of the city, close to downtown. Our school has easy transportation access through either public transit or designated school buses. We offer an outstanding program with ESL classes and full integration into all other courses. Students will be enrolled in academic and complementary classes, i.e., Art, Foods, Design Studies, Photography or Yoga to name a few. We accept students that are coming here for a short term visit or those that want to get a high school diploma and move onto a post-secondary institution. If you have any questions please contact our International Advisor, Ms. M. Sigvaldason.

Information on registering can be found on the Non-Canadian Students page.

I liked Crescent Heights because there are a lot of people who come from other countries – it is very multicultural! In Japan, we can’t choose options, but here we can do what we want to do, like foods and baking. This year I am playing field hockey, and it is so fun! It’s difficult but the coaches and players are very nice. I am going to miss the education system in Canada, and my friends. In clubs, we get to learn about other country’s traditions and culture and it is so interesting. There are a lot of international students here so I am not alone, and everyone learns English so there are lots of people to cooperate with.

Being an international student in Calgary was the best experience of my life. I had the opportunity to meet new people, visit beautiful places, taste new food and learn from other cultures. Moreover, I really enjoyed my experience as an international student at Crescent Heights since I discovered more fun and interesting ways of learning. Finally, I would like to encourage students from other countries to come to Calgary and live an experience they will never forget.

I like Crescent Heights because the school offers me everything I need and everything that can help me to make my experience better. All the teachers and staff have the patience and the kindness to help me in anything I have doubts about. I will miss almost everything. I have had the opportunity to grow, learn, and improve my English very much. I will miss my teachers and especially my friends that I have made here, many of them international students.

Crescent is a great school to go to. Everybody is very open and welcoming to the international students. Teachers are always understanding and do their best to help each student to be successful. You are always able to find help from either students or staff members. I’m extremely glad that I went to Crescent and got to spend an amazing three years here! I will miss the track team a lot too. After I graduate this year I will be going to University of Alberta to pursue a degree in Neuroscience.
