Supervision of Students
A reminder to parents that
supervision of David Thompson students begins 15 minutes before the school day
starts and ends 15 minutes after dismissal. At lunchtime, students
remaining on campus are supervised by school staff. Students who go
home for lunch or those in grades 7 to 9 who leave the campus (including to the
public play park north of the school) are not supervised by school staff and it
is understood that students going off campus have parent permission to do
so. Please note that students in the building earlier than 15
minutes before school not directly working with a teacher are expected to be on
their best behaviour or face losing that privilege.
School Resource Officer
The role of the Resource Officer is to provide guidance and act as a legal resource for teachers, students, parents/guardians and the community at large. Part of this role is to encourage communication and greater understanding among young people and the Calgary Police Service.
