Band Society

Meeting/Dates

For the 2021-2022 school year, monthly Band Society meetings are being held the last Thursday of every month at 7pm, via Microsoft Teams.  The meeting link is emailed to all band parents a few days in advance.  Please see the resources section for previous meeting minutes and refer to the school Calendar page for upcoming meeting dates.

2022/2023 Band Society

Mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00pm for the Band Program Information Night & Band Society AGM, held in the Learning Commons at David Thompson School. You will be able to meet the band teacher, and we will be holding elections for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Fundraising Coordinator.

If your child will be in the David Thompson Band program for the 2022/2023 year, please consider joining the Band Society!  This fun & friendly parent-run group exists to support the band program with fundraising activities to help offset the cost of clinics, band camps and other fun & educational activities.  While nominations for all Executive positions will be open (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary), there are currently no names standing for the President or Vice President roles. In order for the Band Society to continue to exist, we are in need of two individuals willing to put their names forward at our AGM in September. If you are interested, please contact dtsbandsociety.vicepresident@gmail.com or dtsbandsociety.secretary@gmail.com

Time Commitment - The Band Society meets virtually once per month during the school year, with the meeting usually lasting only 1 hour.  Additional time for helping with band fundraising activities varies and is dependent on your availability.

No experience is needed!  Previous society members will show you the ropes, and we work as a team to support each other!

Please read below for descriptions of the President and Vice President Positions:
