Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Contact

We believe strongly in the parent-teacher partnership in support of student success. Parents are encouraged to check the Homeroom blogs and Powerschool for grades regularly and to contact their child’s teachers by phone or e-mail at any time during the school year to discuss student progress. Parent/Student/Teacher conferences will be held by appointment three times during the school year. Conferences provide a valuable opportunity to share information about a student’s learning and achievement. Conference dates can be found on the school calendar. Conferences are booked on-line, and booking instructions are posted on the school website and sent out by School Messenger email to parents a few weeks prior to the event.

Conference Dates

Check our calendar for conference dates.

Please see the School Conferences Parent Guide attached along with other helpful documents.

Virtual Conferences - Microsoft Teams

This is the first time we will be using Microsoft Teams as an integrated tool with our conference booking application.  We have tested it here at the school and hope it will run smoothly on the day of the conferences.  As you know, technology doesn't always work as we hope, so our backup plan when there are technical challenges either on the teacher or the parent end will be to call the parent at their mobile number listed in PowerSchool. You should have received, reviewed and returned a demographic information form in the last two weeks. It is important that your information, including your phone numbers, are correct.  If you did not receive this demographic form, please call our main office at 403-777=7470, to request one be sent home with your child.  If you have questions, please contact the main office

Virtual Conferences - Microsoft Teams - Test Sessions

We are providing an opportunity to families to familiarize yourselves with Microsoft Teams and work through technical issues prior to your conferences with teachers. We have scheduled the following sessions :

Wednesday, November 18, 2020: 3:00 - 7:30pm

Thursday, November 19, 2020: 3:00 - 7:30pm

Friday, November 20, 2020: 8:30am - 2:00pm

Please click on the link embedded in the date and time when you are ready to test. There will be someone available to connect with you and verify that your camera and mic are working properly and that you are able to successfully access a virtual meeting using Microsoft Teams. We recommend you complete the test well before your virtual meeting.

Virtual Conferences - Access to Technology

If you do not have access to the necessary technology, please book a conference as explained above, then contact the teachers by email to indicate you would prefer a phone call conversation.

Report Cards

For the January reporting period we are asking you to view the report card through the MyCBE/PowerSchool Portal. Once logged in, you will see an additional tab titled “Report Card”. Select this tab to view the report card.

Should you wish to have a printed report card, please contact the school and one will be provided to you or your child.
