​​​Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers are able to connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.​​​

School Conferences

Parent-Teacher Contact 

We believe strongly in the parent-teacher partnership in support of student success. Parents are encouraged to check the Homeroom blogs and Powerschool for grades regularly and to contact their child’s teachers by phone or e-mail at any time during the school year to discuss student progress. Parent/Student/Teacher conferences will be held by appointment three times during the school year. Conferences provide a valuable opportunity to share information about a student’s learning and achievement. Conference dates can be found on the school calendar. Conferences are booked on-line, and booking instructions are posted on the school website and sent out by School Messenger email to parents a few weeks prior to the event.

First round of conferences: Meet the Teacher / Meet the Learner - During the month of September, teachers will post introductory videos on their D2L shells so parents can familiarize themselves with the teacher, their routines and courses being taught. Parents/guardians are also welcome to contact the teacher to organize a phone call or virtual meeting to ask questions and address concerns.

Second round of conferences: 

Please register for a conference starting November 16, 2021 at 8am until November 23 at 6pm through your myCBE/PowerSchool account. Meetings are 10 minutes in length with each teacher for each course your child has with the teacher. 

Thursday, November 24, 2022: 4:30 - 8:00pm 

Friday, November 25, 2022: 8:30am - 2:30pm

Third Round of Conferences

Please register for a conference starting March 2, 2023 at 12pm until March 9th at 12pm through your myCBE/PowerSchool account.  Meetings are 10 minutes in length with each teacher for each course your child has with the teacher. 

Thursday, March 9, 2023: 4:30-8:00pm 

Friday, March 10, 2023: 8:30am-2:30pm 

Booking Your Conference

Please access my Conferences through the Parent portal of PowerSchool - Choose My apps - My Conferences.

Report Cards

For the January reporting period we are asking you to view the report card through the MyCBE/PowerSchool Portal. Once logged in, you will see an additional tab titled “Report Card”. Select this tab to view the report card.

Should you wish to have a printed report card, please contact the school and one will be provided to you or your child.

​How to Book a School Conference

  1. Log-in to MyCBE​.

    If you do not have an account, follow the Create a MyCBE Account​ instructions.

  2. Click on the My School Conferences icon.

  3. Click on the time slot that is available and convenient for you. Ensure pop-up windows are allowed.

  4. In the pop-up window, you will choose your child (you have the option to enter the student's name), the name of the parent / guardian is pre-filled, but can also be changed.​​​​

​​​Create a MyCBE Account

  1. Go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on the “Create Parent Account” link.

    Important: the email that you are using to create your account must be the same one you have provided to the school. If you are unsure, please contact the school office.

  2. Once you have created an account, you will receive a confirmation email. 

  3. After your account is confirmed, you can login to the system.​
