Attendance

Attendance Line: 403-777-6840  ext. 1

Regular attendance is a prerequisite to success at school. Students are required to attend every day the school is in operation unless prohibited from doing so because of illness or a family emergency. Absences are acceptable only where the student is away with the knowledge and permission of his/her parents. Your child’s safety is our primary concern.

Absences or Late Arrival

Parents are requested to phone the school attendance line if your child is going to be absent or late.

Please leave the following information:

  • name of student(s)
  • grade(s)
  • teacher(s)
  • reason for absence or lateness length of absence if known

If your child is not in attendance and the school has not been made aware of the absence, every effort will be made to contact parents or guardians. Please ensure the school has a complete list of all emergency contacts and authorized guardians for your child. To make changes or to ensure we have your most current contact information, please contact our office.

Students are expected to arrive at school on time. Continued late arrivals will be reported to parents. Parents are asked to help their child(ren) be on time.

Children arriving late, but before 8:30 am should still proceed to their classroom door. Students arriving late, after 8:30 am should enter via the front door and check in verbally at the office. Due to the current pandemic, parents should not enter the school (except for prearranged meetings). In order to address safety and security issues, all parents and visitors are asked to use the intercom at the front doors to communicate with the office staff. We will address your needs at the front door as best as possible.

Early Dismissal of Individual Students

A student may not leave the school prior to regular dismissal times without permission. Students needing to leave for medical or dental appointments or other reasons must bring a note or the parent must contact the school requesting early dismissal. Students may not go home until someone in authority is contacted to give permission. Parents/guardians need to sign students out from the office through use of the intercom system at the front door.
