Health & Wellness at the CBE

At the CBE, we believe in a whole school approach to health and wellness. We call this our Comprehensive School Health (CSH) approach. CSH is about healthy eating, active living, supportive social environments and positive mental health. As a system, we focus on the following four areas: healthy eating; healthy relationships; physical activity; and positive mental health. Each school creates its own approach and goals for health and wellness.

Recycling

Recycling is an important part of learning at our school. We recycle newsprint, cardboard, plastic, glass etc. through a program similar to the city’s residential blue bin program. We have secure shredding bins for all paper and we also compost all of our paper towels. It is very important that we recycle responsibly and sort carefully.

All bottle/drink containers that are accepted at bottle depots (deposit paid when purchased) will be collected in special bins in the hallways and piazza. Everyone is asked to drain the drink containers and remove straws and pull-tabs before placing containers into the bins. Reusable drink containers are great alternatives to single use and recyclable containers.
