​Important Dates

We follow the CBE Traditional Calendar. The calendar sets common start and end days, non-instructional days and holidays. For our school’s additional non-instructional days, late entries, early dismissal days and events, see our school calendar page.


The Alberta Government announced on July 21 that schools will be in Scenario 1 as of Sept. 1, 2020.  

The CBE's 2020-21 re-entry plan is subject to change as more information becomes available from the province. We will continue to update schools with more details during the next school year.​​

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is September 1, 2020 and the school office is open to parents on August 27th, 28th and 31st  from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm..

Kindergarten

The first day of classes we will have a staggered entry as follows: 

“Kindergarten Welcome” TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 1, 2020

9:30 am 10:30 am

GROUP A: All students whose last names begin with A-D will come to school with their parent(s) to meet their teacher and see their classroom.

 11:00 am 12:00 pm

GROUP B: All students whose last names begin with E-L will come to school with their parent(s) to meet their teacher and see their classroom.

1:00 pm 2:00 pm

GROUP C: All students whose last names begin with M-P will come to school with their parent(s) to meet their teacher and see their classroom.

2:30 pm 3:30 pm

GROUP D: All students whose last names begin with Q-Z will come to school with their parent(s) to meet their teacher and see their classroom.

Noon Supervision

In past school years, students will go outside to play first and at 12:40pm students come in and will eat their lunch. Supervision is provided by lunchroom staff. If your child stays for lunch, please be sure you have registered for noon supervision. Please see information below for how to register. 

Due to Covid-19, we will be looking at making changes for the 2020-2021 School Year to ensure we are meeting health guidelines.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2020-21 school year are created over the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in May. While CBE Transportation continues to accept pre-registrations, these will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving.

COVID-19 Chan​ges

  • Riding the Bus Flowchart and Checklist
  • Only registered students have bus route and stop information provided through MyCBE / PowerSchool; this is to control the number of students accessing a bus in order to support maintaining healthy distances
  • Only registered students should use transportation services
  • Students are assigned to one stop based on their primary home address for general transportation; alternate stops will not be available
  • Students will be assigned a seat by the driver; students must adhere to the seating plan
  • Students must complete the AHS health assessment every morning before leaving for the bus stop. Students or family members with COVID-19 symptoms must stay home.
  • Masks are mandatory for students K-12, including on school buses
  • All service providers will follow Alberta Education and Alberta Health COVID-19 guidelines

More information about 2020-21 transportation service levels and proposed fees are posted on the CBE website.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.​​​​
