Principal's Message

Dear Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School Students, Parents and Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I write this letter today.

I wanted to let you know personally of my decision to submit my letter of retirement.  The Calgary Board of Education is committed to finding an exceptional leader to be the next Principal of the school and to do so by the end of June 2023.  It is difficult to be leaving the Scarlett family yet I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.

Serving you as Principal of Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School has been a great honour and a defining part of my personal and professional life. When I was appointed in 2017, I knew I would have the pleasure and the opportunity to lead one of the best high schools in the world. These six and half years could not have been more rewarding.  Dr. E.P. Scarlett is a school that truly cares about the learning and well-being of every student every day.

I am proud to have collaborated with such dedicated parents, teachers and students to make everyone's experience at our school an inclusive and rewarding one.  I appreciate the many wonderful memories we have made together. I will always feel a part of the Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School Community.

I would like to thank the teachers, staff, students and families for the opportunity to work together in growing a “Place of Humane Learning".

Shari Goodfellow

Principal
