LANCERS ATHLETICS

Please see below for important information from the Executive Director of the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association.

August 21, 2020

Please be advised that Fall sports are postponed to start the 2020/21 school year.

In consultation with high school principals, the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association, has reviewed the Alberta Government document Guidance for Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation - Stage 2alongside the 2020-2021 School Re-entry Plan and the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association document Re-Implementation of Sport in a School Setting.

Given the cohorting parameters and other restrictive guidelines set forth by the Alberta Government with respect to athletics, all Fall sports have been postponed. This includes any type of organized meeting, conditioning or skill development sessions, tryouts and practices.

This decision will be re-evaluated on or before October 1, 2020.

Supporting the return to in-person classes will take the collective support of school administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents/guardians along with government and Alberta Health Services (AHS). This will be the initial focus on behalf of our student athletes.

We thank you for your patience and understanding,

Pat Harrigan

CSHSAA Executive Director
