English 10-1 Pre AP is designed to challenge interested and capable students beyond the 10-1 program. Emphasis is placed on applying reading strategies; understanding and applying literary techniques and literary forms; and mastering the research process. As they read and create, students will consider a work's structure, style, and themes, as well as such smaller-scale elements as the use of figurative language, imagery, symbolism, and tone.
