Kindergarten

Our Kindergarten Program

Dr. Freda Miller School currently offers a half day kindergarten program with classes in the morning or afternoon Monday through Thursday and alternating Friday mornings.

Parents are encouraged to express their preference for either morning or afternoon programs and the final decisions are made following the intake meetings in May.  Where ever possible we do try to meet a family's preference, taking into account factors like transportation needs, day care needs and whether the child in enrolled in the kindercare program through Seeds of S.P.I.C.E.

In the cases where we are over subscribed to either a morning or afternoon program, we will reach out to all families, first to see if there is anyone who might be able to accommodate a move.  In the event we are unable to make the necessary moves, we would hold a lottery process.

Once classes are confirmed and communicated out at the end of June, any additional registrations would be assigned a class based on availability.  Class lists are finalized in September based on total registrations and some moves can happen at this time as well, in discussion with families.
