The Calgary Board of Education continues to plan for the health measures that may be in place for the next school year. More details will be shared with families before the first day of classes.

Back to School Information

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes is Wednesday, September 1, 2021, and the school office is open to parents on Friday, August 27, 2021.

Grade 6 and 7 Students: Enter through the main doors of the school

Grade 8 and 9 Students: Enter through the student doors closest to the staff parking lot.

Our bell times for 2021-22 are:

Monday - Thursday

  • Doors Open: 7:50 AM 
  • Warning Music: 8:12 AM
  • Classes Begin: 8:15 AM
  • Lunch:
  • Dismissal: 2:55 PM

Friday: Early Dismissal

  • Doors Open: 7:50 AM
  • Warning Music: 8:12 AM
  • Classes Begin: 8:15 AM
  • Dismissal: 11:55 AM

School Supplies

General supplies are provided for students in Grade 6.

School supply lists for students in Grades 7 - 9 are distributed by teachers on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Basic first day supplies for all students include Lunch Kit, Backpack, Water Bottle, Tissues, Sun Screen and Bug Spray.

Noon Supervision for Grade 6 (optional) and Food Service

Our campus is a CLOSED campus at lunchtime. Students may not leave campus and should be prepared to either bring lunch from home or pre-purchase it through Healthy Hunger.

Grade 6 students are provided direct, in-classroom supervision to eat lunch. Grade 7 - 9 students will be able to choose from set areas on campus to eat. All students will be asked to go outside for approximately 20 minutes each lunch break.

Healthy Hunger will be set up for parents to begin ordering on September 7 and daily delivery will commence on September 20.

The Canteen will be open to purchase supplemental snacks and drinks effective Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Assigned Teachers

Information concerning assigned teachers will be available for viewing in PowerSchool effective Monday, August 30, 2021. Your child’s homeroom teacher will send you a message via School Messenger on Tuesday, August 31 to provide information as to where the classroom is located and who your student’s Core teachers are.

Do You Have a MyCBE / PowerSchool Parent Account?

Parents who have not already done so, must create an account in MyCBE / PowerSchool to:

  • Pay fees or apply for a waiver

  • Register for transportation and noon supervision

  • View student progress

To create a new account, go to www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe and click on Create Parent Account. You will need to have your child(ren)’s CBE Student ID Number and use your email on file at the school.​

​Fees and Waivers

School fees will be charged to families starting in October. Online fee payment is the simplest and most convenient way to pay school fees. Parents can use their online account to pay fees or apply for a waiver at: www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe.

​​Yellow School Bus Tra​nsportation

Yellow school bus routes for the 2021-22 school year are created o​ver the summer and based on the addresses submitted before the pre-registration deadline in June. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.

Your bus stop location and time will be available in your MyCBE / PowerSchool account by mid-August.

Conditional riders can also register using MyCBE / PowerSchool. Applications will be considered after eligible riders registrations have been processed.
