School Entry

We ask all parents, volunteers, visitors and guests to sign in at the front office whenever they plan to be at the school. All visitors are asked to wear their CBE ID tag or visitor tag during their time at our school. This does not apply to school-wide events such as concerts or assemblies.

Fire Drills

Schools hold regular fire drills throughout each year. Drills should be expected at different times of the day, in different seasons, and various weather conditions. Procedures for fire drills are developed with the Calgary Fire Department and are aligned with CBE standards. Please contact your school principal if you have any questions.

Lockdowns

All CBE schools are required to practice lockdowns in the same way that we practice fire drills. The procedures for lockdowns are developed with the Calgary Police Service and are part of each school’s Emergency Response Plan. If you have questions about lockdown drills or lockdown procedures, please contact your principal.

Evacuation Procedures

In the event that the school needs to be evacuated for any reason, all staff have been trained according to CBE standards. All schools have a primary and a secondary evacuation site. In the event of an evacuation, you will receive an email, phone or SMS notification from the school.
