Library to Learning Commons

We are currently in year 3 of our 3 year Library to Learning Commons transition plan. 

Years 1 & 2 included:

• replacing tall static shelves with shorter (more accessible) movable shelves
• replacing tables and chairs (to student height) with flexible groups
• replacing flooring (to carpet tiles)
• adding technology (laptops, iPads & apps, Spheros, and Dash robots
• addition of soft seating
• use of green screen and stop motion technology
• Chapters-Indigo Love of Reading Grant ($85 000 over 3 years to update our book collections)

Year 3 Plan

• Add Makerspace
• Increase teacher learning around STEM activities
