Important grade 9 information will be posted on this page. This includes teacher contacts, high school registration information, and weekly updates for core classes (what we will be doing, homework, and tests).
WEEKLY UPDATES
Please click the "Math and Science" and "Humanities" tabs to the left for weekly updates as to the specific topics students will be studying in class.
Please click the "My Child's Learning" box to the right if you are interested in knowing all of the topics your child will be studying this year.
HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION
- The high school registration process for Joane Cardinal-Schubert School has begun. Parents will be emailed the virtual Open House dates and links on Friday, January 15th. This information is also posted on the right-hand side of the page. Stay tuned for more information once registration forms are sent home.
- For those who are seeking an alternative program such as IB or performing arts, see information below:
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) program: Henry Wise Wood HS is the designated IB school for ALL interested Grade 9 students living in Areas V and VI. The IB Programme is a rigorous academic program intended for students successful in Grade 9 classes who would like to challenge themselves in high school and be better prepared ultimately for post-secondary. Grade 9 students who are interested should register in a minimum of 2 IB courses in order to be eligible and have 3’s and 4’s in these subjects. Virtual tours and Open House is scheduled for January 19th, 20th, and 21st.

If wanting to attend a different CBE high school other than JCS, this will require a transfer after registration. The transfer process is changing this year and this information will be shared once it is released.
D2L:
Brightspace by D2L is an online learning platform that all students grade 7-9 will be using to access assignments and resources that have been delivered in the classroom.
To login, just google “CBE D2L” or click this link: https://d2l.cbe.ab.ca/d2l/loginh/
Enter the same user ID and password that you would to login to a computer at school.
Once you have logged in, you will see your Courses. These are D2L shells that your teachers have set up for you.
Click on the Course you want to go into.
