Phys. Ed & Intramural News
Our physical education program continues to focus on students being responsible
participants in the gym while striving for persistence, improvement and achieving
their personal best. Quidditch was the first unit introduced in January. The game
of Quidditch has been adapted from the game played in the Harry Potter books. It
is a unique game that involves three different games being played simultaneously
(handball, dodgeball, and wall ball/chase).
On February 4 we had presentation
from The Heart and Stroke Foundation, which kicked off our Jump Rope for Heart
Fundraising. The presentation explained the importance of a healthy heart as well
as an explanation of heart health, stroke awareness, and the fundraising process.
Dr. Oakley Jump Rope for Heart event day will take place Wednesday February
13; the last day for all donations and envelopes to be returned to the school will be
Wednesday February 20.
In Intramurals, students have just begun the popular Quidditch Tournament and the
level of participation and sportsmanship is outstanding!
Stay active! Ms. Wray
