There are many ways you can contribute to our school’s success, and make a difference for our school and our students. In our school, this can include providing in-kind donations, contributing cash and lending expertise and technical knowledge. Connect with our principal on what may be appropriate. Fundraisers & Donations

EducationMatters Mariam Rakka Inclusive Education Fund

The family of one of our fantastic Earl Grey students has started a brand new granting fund through EducationMatters with the goal of creating inclusive CBE classrooms for all children with learning and physical challenges.

The first mission of the Mariam Rakka Inclusive Education Fund is to support the Learning and Literacy program right here at Earl Grey! The Learning and Literacy class is for students identified with learning disabilities and is offered to students in Grades 4-9. The goal of an L&L class is to assist each student in gaining skills, knowledge, and competencies so they can reach their individual academic, social, and emotional potential. Teaching in this class is done in a blended classroom model with an emphasis on developing reading and writing skills.

The fund is named after Mariam Rakka, an awesome Earl Grey student who has Cerebral Palsy and other learning challenges. Mariam has loved her time at Earl Grey and wants to give back to the Learning and Literacy program that has provided her with an excellent inclusive learning environment.

Our goal for 2022-2023 is to raise $30,000. A portion of those funds will be used right away to help students at Earl Grey School, with the remainder of funds raised endowed so that generations of CBE students will be able to enjoy the gift of inclusive education. As well, anything raised over $30,000 this first year will go towards Earl Grey School to help build an inclusive playground.

To donate to the Mariam Rakka Inclusive Education Fund please visit

As well, any dollars raised through Earl Grey’s Text to Donate this year go towards the fund. Text EDMATTERS EARLG to 30333.

Christmas Star Letter and Fundraiser

Each year the Earl Grey School community offers some assistance for families in need at Christmas with our Earl Grey Christmas Stars.

If your family is in need of assistance this Christmas we would like to include you in this program but we need your permission.  Along with your signed consent, we ask that you include the names and ages of all your children on the form, even if they do not attend Earl Grey School and we will create a star for each of them.

Names of participating families are kept confidential with a numerical cross reference system in the office.

This year we have chosen to provide gift cards so families can purchase gifts for their children and some special food items for the season’s celebrations.

Parents will be contacted before December 17 to pick up gift packages for their family.

If you are experiencing financial difficulty this Christmas and believe your family would benefit from our Christmas Stars program please contact Mrs. Dann in the office 403-777-8570 before Nov. 12, 2021 to have the paperwork send home.  The paperwork must be returned to the school by Nov. 19.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Linda Dann

Thank you.
