Kindergarten

Emily Follensbee School accepts pre-school and kindergarten children who are eligible for Program Unit Funding (PUF) funding and match the student profile. These children are 2 years 8 months to 5 years old. We provide half-day programming (morning or afternoon classes) for preschool and kindergarten children.

When a Child Can Begin Kindergarten

Use our Kindergarten calculator to see when your child is eligible to attend Kindergarten. Under current Alberta Education regulations, your child must be at least four years old on or before Mar. 1 to start Kindergarten in September of the same calendar year.

Note: your child must start Grade 1 if they are six years of age or older on Sep. 1.

When to Register

Registration for the 2019-20 school year will begin on Jan. 14, 2019 for modified calendar schools such as ours.
