February 2021
I hope everyone is staying warm! During these cold weeks we have been learning about the Arctic, animals in the Arctic, and how to stay warm with the Inuit stories Buniq's Boots, Mama, Do you Love Me?, and Arctic Stories. We have also been engaging in science experiments and art activities using PODD to talk about what we are making and students made choices about what colors they wanted to use. It is my last day on February 5th and we will be welcoming Breton back on Monday, February 8th! I have loved being your teacher and it has been amazing watching each of you learn and grow over these past 5 months! I'm excited to hear about all the amazing things you will do next!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful break and enjoyed the snow outside. We recently welcomed a new student to our class and school. Welcome to Emily Follensbee School Maryam! In January, we will be reading books with a weekly theme focusing on the words we are using in communication, such as "wait", "more", "stop", and "go". Have a wonderful start to 2021!

We are making a difference! We have been learning about community involvement and ways we can make a difference in people's lives. Students made cards for local veterans on Remembrance Day by choosing what they wanted to say in the cards. We were very excited to receive a card back from a veteran named Nigel and we are hoping to be pen-pals! We are now making holiday cards for seniors and Canadian troops overseas. From our class to your homes – please have a safe and happy holiday!
September 2020
Happy Fall! We have all been so happy to welcome students back into our classroom. It has been so exciting getting to know the students new to our class and seeing how much students grew from last year! In September we focused our learning on each student's communication style and learning about the changing seasons. We have enjoyed exploring the cliffside area and our classroom deck to learn about leaves and enjoy the warm weather. It was great to talk with parents during learning conferences, and we are excited to go forward in this momentum and have a great year!
