Hello everyone! We've had a great few weeks since returning to school from spring break. Our class did a book study of "Ten Apples Up on Top" by Dr. Seuss. This book was enjoyed by students and staff alike, and provided a variety of learning opportunities including numeracy, science, art, sensory, etc. Some of this work was shared during April’s Parent Council Meeting. We've just begun "From Head to Toe" by Eric Carle where we are exploring body parts/body awareness through movement. We have been enjoying nice weather days with opportunities to get outside, and we look forward to spending a lot of time outdoors throughout the spring!
Welcome to March - the school year is flying by! We've been enjoying the recent bits of warmer weather, and are looking forward to spending more time outside throughout the spring. We've recently completed book studies of, "If You Give A Pig A Pancake," "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie," and "If You Give A Cat A Cupcake." These have emphasized and complemented our current focus core word, 'you.' The students have enjoyed the books as much as we have, along with writing activities, art, cooking, table tasks, and sensory play to go with each book. As we continue to work with students on their individualized programming, we see progress being made with their efforts and hard work. Spring break will be well deserved by all. Have a great month of March, everyone!
Happy New Year to everyone in the Emily Follensbee family! We can't believe it's already January. Hope that everyone had a restful and happy winter break. Our students were thrilled to get in the pool prior to the break, and we are excited for these ongoing opportunities! We're starting off the New Year with a focus on the core word 'you' for our book studies. First up is, "If You Give a Pig A Pancake". We will also spend some time in our outdoor learning area while the weather is nice. We're looking forward to what 2021 will hold.
Welcome back to school! It's so exciting to have students back in the building for face-to-face learning. We've been enjoying the opportunity to get to know students who are new to our classroom - Daniel, Cameron, Caelum, and Barrick. With the nice weather, we have been taking advantage of getting outside as much as we can. We began the year with a book study of, "The Pigeon HAS To Go To School" as well as an "About Me" focus. Students have been eager to get into their new routines, and have shown enthusiasm towards getting to know their new peers and classroom staff. We are excited for the year ahead!
