First Day of Classes
Our first day of classes is Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 and the school office is open to parents Thursday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, 9:30 AM– 2:00 PM. Regular office hours will commence Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020 8:00 AM– 3:30 PM.
All Grades 1 – 4 students will attend school daily beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020. Welcoming emails from classroom teachers will be sent to each family after 1:00 PM on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 and that is when students will know their assigned classroom teacher will be. This email will also indicate the dedicated entry door for each child and students are asked to gather at the indicate door for first day entry. All teachers will be outside on the compound greeting students and families beginning at 8:10 AM Sept. 1, 2020. Parents are always welcome inside the school as volunteers with current police clearances but the expectation continues that children will enter school independently and adults will remain outside once the bell rings and students enter the building. This enables the school to be confident as to who is in the building and the students will continue to be able to move freely and independently around the school to meet their own learning needs.
Kindergarten classes, both AM and PM, will have staggered entry days on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2020, as per a schedule that will be emailed to parents in late August. The first day of regular Kindergarten classes will take place on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 and alternating Friday schedule will begin on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 with the AM Kindergarten students attending. Kindergarten students will not be assigned to a particular teacher until Friday Sept. 4 – families will receive a welcoming email from their assigned Kindergarten teacher on the afternoon of Sept. 4, 2020. Kindergarten is a co-teaching environment where multiple educators work with the students – assigned teachers will be the primary contact educator for parents and hold responsibility for personalizing learning through collaboration for their assigned class list of students.
Kindergarten
For staggered entry dates, Sept. 1 and 2, 2020, Kindergarten students will enter/exit the school through their regular door, 4W. Thursday, Sept. 3 will be the first regular AM & PM class day and alternating Friday schedule will begin on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 with the AM Kindergarten students attending – families will receive a welcoming email from their assigned Kindergarten teacher on the afternoon of Sept. 4, 2020. Kindergarten is a co-teaching environment where multiple teachers/support staff work with the students – assigned teachers will be the primary contact educator for parents and hold responsibility for personalizing learning through collaboration for their assigned class list of students.

Noon Supervision
Eric Harvie School has a fully supervised lunchroom program for students in Grades 1 – 4. Families must register online through their MyCBE/PowerSchool account. Registered students need to bring a nutritious lunch (reasonably sized) they can eat in a 25 – 30 minute period of time. We have a fully staffed Lunchroom Program that establishes expectations and supervise students for the lunch block.
