Spanish Language & Culture 10

No Prerequisite Required

Content:  This is a beginner’s course that will start students in learning the Spanish language using the “DIME” text and workbook.  Students will learn to listen, speak, read and write in Spanish, building upon the topics of school, pastimes, the family, and a wedding.  The lessons are set in Latin American locations so knowledge of the Americas will be increased.  

Spanish Language & Culture 20   (5 credits)

Prerequisite Recommendation: Spanish 10- 65%

Content:  Building on Spanish 10 this course uses units 5-8 of “DIME” . Topics include past tense of verbs, more complicated structures and the honing the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. Foundational knowledge in this course will make Spanish Language & Culture an easier transition.

Spanish Language & Culture 30  (5 credits)

Prerequisite Recommendation: Spanish 20 -65%

Content:  Spanish 30 builds upon the foundations of Spanish 10 and 20 with more complex grammar focus.  Students work on improving their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.  The “DIME” text will be used as in Spanish 10 and 20.

***Spanish 30 can be used to fulfill requirements for post secondary entrance
