Personal Belongings

Care of Personal Property

The school is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property. Students are advised to leave items of value at home and not share their locker combinations.

Students will be provided with a locker that is often shared. All students are expected to keep their locker combination safe and secure. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen goods including cell phones.

Lost & Found

Students are advised to check in the office for any items that may have been turned in. Items not claimed by the end of the school year will be donated.

Personal Electronic Devices

Our school has a Digital Citizenship plan and an Acceptable Use Policy that addresses the appropriate use of electronic devices at school.

Bicycles, Scooters and Skateboards

We certainly encourage active living practices with children such as riding a bicycle to school. Upon arrival at the school and for the safety of all students, cyclists are expected to walk bicycles on school grounds during school hours. When bicycles are brought to school they should be locked in the bicycle rack provided.  We are unable to store student bikes in the school. The school cannot be responsible for bicycles damaged or stolen while they are at school. We do not recommend expensive bikes are brought to school. If your child’s bike is stolen, you are encouraged to file a report with the Calgary Police Service via their online reporting system. Scooters and skateboards need to fit in the student’s locker.

Personal Technology at School

Our school supports a BYOD policy with regard to students and personal electronic devices. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) means students can bring their own devices to school for educational purposes. Students can bring in a Smart Phone, iPad, iPod or tablet to help enrich their learning. Students are allowed and encouraged to use these items for assignments or lessons when needed.

Students are responsible for lost, stolen and/or damaged personal electronic devices, just as they are for any other personal items they bring to school. We recommend that students take appropriate measures to look after their devices, including leaving them locked in hall lockers unless it’s being used for learning. Students are not allowed to take devices into the change rooms and activating GPS Locator Apps if devices are equipped with them. The school cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Weapons

There are no weapons of any kind allowed at school.
