One way parents/guardians can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on our school’s parent society. Under the School Act, a parent society is a formal group of parents, incorporated under the Societies Act for the purpose of raising funds for the school. A society is a separate legal entity from the school council. The school principal is not part of this group. More information can be found in our CBE Administrative Regulation 5001 – School Councils and School/Parent Societies.​​

Parent Society

Our school parent society is known as the Ethel M. Johnson Fundraising Society.

Meeting Schedule

Parent society meetings start after the School Council meetings, usually at 7:30 PM, in the EMJ staff room.  They are every second Tuesday in the month. See our school Calendar for dates.

Events

We organize EMJ's biggest fundraising event every 12-18 months, the casino fundraiser, and other smaller events. Event information is usually shared in Fundraisers & Donations
