MyBusStop App

CBE Transportation is pleased to announce a new bus route monitoring app called MyBusStop for all Southland Transportation routes. You can use the new mobile and web application GPS tracking service to see real-time information such as the route stops, route schedule, route progress and possible route delays for your child’s yellow school bus. The app was created and is maintained by Southland Transportation.

How to Register for MyBusStop App

You will need the following information to create your account:

  • Your child’s bus route
  • Eugene Coste’s unique access code: CBEJTYSVFP
  • Download the MyBusStop app for iOS or Android

Visit www.mybusstop.ca to create your account and register. Follow the prompts and select the bus route you want to track.

Once registered, you are now ready to track your child’s bus using the website or your mobile device.

Picking-Up Bused Students

Parents and approved adults picking up students from the school who take the bus are asked to please MEET STUDENTS AT THE BUS LINEUP; this process allows teachers in charge to confirm whom students are going home with, to maintain safety. Please arrive at 3:35 in advance of the bell at 3:40 as we are not able to hold busses from leaving for parents who are running late.

Due to high call volume, please do not call the office at the end of the day to let us know you are picking them up from the bus.

Kindergarten Bus Safety

Buses Arriving at School

Kindergarten

When buses arrive, students are greeted at the bus by a staff member who will walk the students to the Kindergarten entrance. Their teacher will pick them up at the entrance when the bell rings at 9:07 am or 12:50 pm for school to begin.

Kindergarten students are not allowed to walk to or from the bus stop unattended for the safety of your child. An adult must be there to wait with them at drop off and pick them up every day.

What if I am Late Picking Up my Child?

If the bus driver arrives at your child’s stop and no adult is present for pick up, the bus driver will keep the child on the bus and wait 5 minutes before proceeding to complete the rest of the bus route. At the end of the regular route, the bus driver will return to the child’s designated stop to see if someone has arrived. If no one has arrived, a call will be placed to Southland Transportation and Eugene Coste School and the child will brought back to the school for pick up.

Getting Students to School

You can register your child for yellow school bus transportation online using your MyCBE/PowerSchool or completing a transportation registration form.

Please visit the CBE website to find more information on fees and service levels for the 2020-21 school year.

To be included in the yellow school bus route planning for September, parents must register by the June 14 deadline. Any registrations received after that date will not be considered until route changes are done after Thanksgiving. The more registrations we receive by the deadline, the more efficient route planning will be for September.

Yellow school bus registrations can be cancelled by Sept. 30 with no financial penalty. Cancellation forms must be completed before a pro-rated refund can be considered. No refunds will be processed for service cancelled after Apr. 30 or for individual trip delays.

Parents/guardians whose children access yellow bus service can view the status of their bus using the MyBusStop App or on My School Bus Monitor.

Visit CBE Transportation for forms and more information.

Conditional Riders

Students who are not attending the designated school for their program, or who are not within the transportation service area, may be able to access existing service if there is a suitable stop on the existing bus route. Fees will not be waived for conditional riders.

Criteria for conditional riders:

  • Must access an existing stop

  • Must be room on the bus

  • Must pay the transportation fee

  • No additional bus routes will be implemented to accommodate conditional riders

  • Must wait for written approval from Transportation Services before starting to ride the bus

Conditional riders are not permitted to ride the bus until it is determined there is space on the bus and riders have been approved by Transportation Services.

Visit CBE Transportation for forms and more information.
