Volunteer at Evergreen School
Parental involvement is a vital component of school programs. At Evergreen School we encourage parents to become involved in our Volunteer Program, School Council and/or Fundraising Society.
Volunteers play an important role. Through volunteer assistance, we are able to enhance the educational opportunities for our students. We recognize the value and encourage the use of volunteers in our school. All parents are welcome to volunteer.
The Calgary Board of Education policy now requires all volunteers to obtain Police Security Clearance at no cost to the volunteer. The Security Clearance is valid for 5 years. Volunteer clearances are initiated by the school office staff and completed online at home, please see school office staff for information.
Generally volunteers assist teachers by providing service on a long- term or short-term basis. Some examples of support service activities are listening to children read, making math games, assisting on field trips, assisting in sports events, play days, working in the library and helping with fund-raising events.
