Welcome Back!

September 10, 2018

I would like to welcome all of our students and their Families to Fairview School for the 2018-19 year.

Thank you to everyone for your patience with our secretarial staff, teachers, and administration as the CBE transitions to a new student information system.   Students will be coming home later this week with information packages.  Please return all necessary documents in the envelope provided.

For those of you, who are still struggling with registering for transportation, please see the website for instructions.  Our website is:  There is also an opportunity to sign up to use the MyBusStop app.  The MyBusStop app requires that you register yearly and provide them with a school code.  The Fairview code is CBEUWR3W06.

Our Meet the Teacher night is on Thursday, September 13, 2018.  This year we are trying a new format.  We are asking all parents to arrive at the school between 6:45 and 7:00 pm.  We will have a short introduction in the gym starting at 7pm sharp.  Parents will be following their student(s) through a Day 4 schedule for the evening.  In this manner they will meet all of their student’s teachers and understand how their child moves about the building throughout a normal school day.  Parents with more than one child in the school may need to divide up and follow individual student schedules.  We have allowed time at the end of the evening for you to meet with any teacher that you were unable to see.  Please DO NOT just drop into a teacher’s room as they may not be discussing the program that your child is registered in.  For example, should your child be in Math 8 and you drop into to see Mr. Drinkle, he may be discussing Math 9 or another grade at that time.  We are asking grade 9 students and parents to meet in the gym at 8pm for a short meeting.

The Fairview School Parent Council will be meeting on September 18, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the school library.  All parents are welcome to attend these meetings.

Our fall athletic try outs are underway.  Coaches will inform the successful students of their position on a team.  Clubs will be starting up during the next few weeks.  Should a club be occurring after school, the sponsoring teacher will send a letter home so that the parents are aware of their attendance and their responsibility for student pick-up.  We do ask all parents to be respectful of team and club pick-up times.  Our teachers are volunteering their time to offer these opportunities to our students.

Once again thank you for your patience and understanding.
