Dear Fairview Families,

Our first major scheduled school break is upon us and, I would like to say it has been nice having all of our students and all of our staff back in the building.  It has been great to hear the voices of students and staff as they engage in teaching and learning.

As we continue to deal with living through a pandemic, we need to recognize that our students are struggling with school expectations and the increased social engagement with others.  There is a need to support our students in learning how to advocate appropriately for themselves, their use of social media and their respect for self, others and our environment.  The support of families with these endeavours is greatly appreciated.

The second half the 2021-22 school year will fly by as quickly as the first half.  Our grade 9's will be engaging with the exploration of their designated high schools and with high school registration.  Basketball season will commence in early January.  Provincial Achievement tests for our grades 6 and 9 will occur throughout May and June.

Just a reminder that classes resume on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  For those families who have travelled over the break, please be sure to follow the directions of the Canadian government and Alberta Health Services with regards to Covid testing and any required isolation periods.

We wish our families a wonderful winter break.  Stay safe and healthy
