Parent(s)/Guardian(s) & Students
Safety is of utmost importance to us at Forest Lawn High School and the Calgary Board of Education (CBE). When students are where they are supposed to be, we can, with confidence, assure that they are under the supervision of an adult who has their well-being in mind.
High School administration teams across the city have experienced an increase in student trespassers on our properties in the 2022-23 school year. This warrants a reminder that all schools in the CBE are considered to be closed campuses.
Only students registered at our schools are allowed in our buildings, on our adjacent grass areas, sports fields, and parking lots. Additionally, Forest Lawn High School students are not to invite students from other schools to our building and adjacent property for any purpose, unless it is an approved activity supported by administration. Violations of this rule may result in disciplinary action including suspension or action from Calgary Police.
Parents/Guardians are asked to reinforce this message with your child/children. Please refer to the following Administrative Regulations for supporting documentation:
AR 6031 – Safe and Secure School Environments
AR 5002 – Responsibilities of Parents
AR 1029 – Operations of a school, section 3
Alberta Education Act – Section 31 – Student Responsibilities
We want to thank our students and families for your part in keeping our school a safe place to learn for all of our community.
Sincerely,
Matt Fell, Principal
Forest Lawn High School
