To participate in high school sports, students must be registered at the
school they intend to compete for and meet the following requirements:

Carry a minimum of 15 credits in a semester for sports that span just that
semester
- Carry a minimum of 25 credits for the complete school year for sports that
span two semesters.
Fall Sports
Football
Football season begins the first day students return to school for Jr Varsity players while the Varsity team begins the first day the teacher's return. A player as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following categories:
Junior: All first year Grade 10 students and under 15 years of age as of September 1 of the present school year or a grade 10 student over 15 as of September 1 who meets a McCloy of 920 or below. A Grade 11 may participate on a Junior team if he does not exceed 875 points. Grade 12 students cannot participate on a Junior team.
Varsity: Any student that is a registered member of the school.
All playing rules for football are those endorsed by the Canadian
Amateur Football Association with the exception of certain modifications made by
the sport committee of the CSHSAA.
Volleyball
The season begins the first day that students resume school after the summer vacation. A player as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following categories:
Junior: All students under the age of 17 as of September 1st of the school year. Grade 12 students cannot participate as members of a Junior Varsity team.
Varsity: All students in Grade 12 are automatically Varsity players. Grade 11s may be members of the team.
All playing rules for volleyball are those endorsed by the
Canadian Volleyball Association with the exception of certain modifications made
by the sport committee of the CSHSAA.
Women's Soccer
The season begins the first day that students resume school after the summer vacation. All students in Grades 10,11 and 12 are eligible to play for the women's soccer team. All playing rules for soccer are those endorsed by the International Football Association Board with the exception of certain modifications made by the sport committee of the CSHSAA.
Winter Sports
Badminton
The season begins the first day of the second semester. A student is eligible to participate and will be classified according to the following categories:
Junior: All students under the age of 16 as of September 1 of the school year.
Intermediate: All students under the age of 17 as of September 1 of the school year.
Senior: All students under the age of 19 as of September 1 of the school year.
During season of play team members have singles, doubles and mixed doubles categories to vie for. All playing rules for badminton are those endorsed by the International Badminton Federation and the Canadian Badminton Association with
the exception of certain modifications made by the sport committee of the CSHSAA.
Basketball
The starting date for basketball season is the Monday following the Volleyball City Championships. A player as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following categories
Junior: All students under the age of 17 as of September 1st of the school year. Grade 12 students cannot participate as members of a Junior Varsity team.
Varsity: All students in Grade 12 are automatically Varsity players. Grade 11's may be members of the team.

International Amateur Basketball Association and the Canadian Basketball
Association with the exception of certain modifications made by the sport
committee of the CSHSAA.
Spring Sports
Men's Soccer
The season begins the first day that students resume school after the summer vacation. All students in Grades 10,11 and 12 are eligible to play for the men's soccer team.

Field Hockey
The season usually begins the last Monday of the month of March. A
player as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following
categories:
Junior: All students under the age of 17 as of September 1st of the school
year. Grade 12 students cannot participate as members of a Junior Varsity
team.
Varsity: All students in Grade 12 are automatically Varsity players. Grade 11s may be members of the team.
All playing rules for field hockey are those endorsed by the Hockey Rules Board with the exception of certain modifications made by the sport committee of the CSHSAA.
Rugby
The season usually begins the last Monday of the month of March. A player as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following categories:
Junior Varsity: All Grade 10 students are automatically eligible to play Junior Varsity. Any Grade 11 student wishing to play at this level must not exceed 920 on the McCloy rating scale. Grade 12 students are not allowed to play on the Junior Varsity team.
Varsity: A Grade 12 student is automatically a varsity player. Grade 11's may be members of the the team.

Rugby Union with the exception of certain modifications made by the sport
committee of the CSHSAA.
Track and Field
The season usually begins the last Monday of the month of March. A student as a member of a school team is eligible to participate in the following categories:
Junior: All students under the age of 16 as of September 1st of the school year.
Intermediate: All students under the age of 17 as of September 1st of the school year.
Senior: All students under the age of 19 as of September 1st of the school
year.
Athletes have the following event choices. They can only compete
in four events of which a relay is considered to be one of those
events.
