Team Descriptions

Volleyball (Jr/Sr Girls, Jr/Sr Boys)

Junior Girls

If you like volleyball and want to get involved on a team, meet new friends, have fun with league games, team building activities, fundraisers, tournaments, volleyball workshops, beach volleyball and participate in an out of town overnight tournament, please come out the first day of classes in September to meet your coaches Ms. McKenzie and Ms. Skjenna. You don't need to be the most skilled volleyball player, you just need a positive approach, a good work ethic and you need to be committed to your team. This team runs from September through November. You will need to pick up an athletic tryout form from the Phys. ed. office on the first day of school.

Junior Boys

Volleyball is a great way to get immediately connected into the amazing athletics community at Forest Lawn. Make sure that you attend the start up athletic meetings for more information.

Soccer (Girls/Boys)

The Forest Lawn soccer program welcomes all players dedicated to developing skills, creating positive relationships, and uncovering their individual potential. Whether you consider yourself a formidable defender, a fleet-footed striker, or a clever midfielder, our coaching staff of teachers, volunteers, and former student players will help you build confidence on and off the pitch. Girls soccer fall season runs from September to October, with the Boys spring season running from May to June. Help bring home that city championship, and create the beginning of Forest Lawn’s soccer legacy!

Basketball (Jr/Sr Boys, Jr/Sr Girls)

The game that challenges one’s mind, strength, and limits. Join the passion, join the legacy, and join the momentum. Please attend introductory athletics meetings for further information.

Forest Lawn has a proud tradition as one of the toughest wrestling programs in Calgary. Open to all students regardless of size, ability or previous experience we have produced male and female Calgary and Provincial Champions year after year and are the Men's 4A Provincial 2nd place team in 2018. Our wrestlers have become leaders on many other teams as a result of the balance, fitness and toughness acquired through combative sport. Wrestling also has a very strong post-secondary connection with the University of Calgary, University of Alberta, University of Saskatoon, and Simon Fraser regularly recruiting from Calgary graduates.

Want to see where your jumping, running, throwing skills will take you? Consider joining track and field. Amazing coaching, amazing opportunity and a chance to hone your individual skills while building awesome school community.

A long time tradition at Forest Lawn. This team is built on hard work, dedication, and honing skills while developing team work. Start your high school journey off by joining one of Forest Lawn’s most legendary teams.
