Electrical and Plumbing Systems

Electrical and Plumbing Systems 20 - 10 credits 

Building on knowledge and skills learned in Construction 10, Cabinet Making 10 or Metal Fabrication 10, the Electrical and Plumbing Systems 20 program provides opportunities for students to learn fundamental, trade-specific knowledge, skills and installation techniques used in the residential electrical wiring and plumbing trades. Students will gain valuable employability and occupational skills in a “hands on” environment with an emphasis on learning through project work. Eligible students will also be encouraged to compete in the Skills Canada competition in the Electrical Wiring category and also to enroll in RAP (the Registered Apprenticeship Program). This course is offered at the Jack James Campus, and includes two courses, Construction Systems 20-4 and Workplace Practicum 20-4, for a total of 10 credits.
Prerequisite: Construction 10 (JJHS), Cabinet Making 10 JJHS), or Metal Fabrication 10 (FLHS)

Electrical and Plumbing Systems 30 - 10 credits

Building on the fundamental knowledge and skills learned in Electrical and Plumbing Systems 20, the Electrical and Plumbing Systems 30 program provides opportunities for students to learn advanced, trade-level knowledge, skills and installation techniques used in the residential electrical wiring and plumbing trades. Students will gain valuable employability and occupational skills in a “hands on” environment with an emphasis on learning through project work.
