May 2nd | COVID-19 Positive Case

Dear Parents/Guardian,

We have been notified by Alberta Health Services (AHS) that a case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in an individual from Glamorgan school.

 Our school remains open to in-person learning for Grade K-6, and we are working closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and students. This includes the cleaning and disinfecting of all items touched by the individual, and the removal and storage of all items that cannot be cleaned and disinfected (paper, books, etc.)  in a sealed container for a minimum of 72 hours.

 The school has already contacted each family or staff member affected by the positive case, and AHS will be following up only with those individuals. If you were not contacted, your child(ren) are not affected by the positive case.

 All students directed to quarantine by AHS will be supported in maintaining course work during the designated period through D2L. They will not join Hub online learning.

 We remind parents/guardians of students, as well as any staff/visitors/volunteers to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.The Alberta Health daily checklist can be found here. Please remember to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.

 If you/your child has any of the symptoms of illness listed on the Alberta Health daily checklist, please fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811 and stay home/keep your child at home.

We will continue to provide additional information to parents/guardians as it is available.

Our school remains open to in-person learning for all students, and we are working closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures continue to be in place to protect all staff and students. This includes the cleaning and disinfecting of all items touched by the individual, and the removal and storage of all items that cannot be cleaned and disinfected (paper, books, etc.)  in a sealed container for a minimum of 72 hours.

 

The school has already contacted each family or staff member affected by the positive case, and AHS will be following up only with those individuals. If you were not contacted, your child(ren) are not affected by the positive case.

Today, we were informed that an individual at Glamorgan School tested positive for COVID-19. Alberta Health Services has confirmed the dates of exposure to be March 25 and 26.

If your child is part of any of the above classes and attended on March 25 or 26, then your child is required to quarantine until April 10 (based on exposure on March 26). Your child is out of quarantine on April 10 and will return to school on Monday, April 12.

Other household members are not required to quarantine unless they are displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19. If you or others in your home have any of these symptoms, please complete the online Alberta Health Services (AHS) COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.

Dr. Hinshaw, the province’s chief medical officer of health, has also issued spring break guidance to Albertans. This includes a strong recommendation against interprovincial travel, as well as a reminder not to travel within the province, or gather indoors with anyone other than your household cohort.

Today, we were informed that an individual at Glamorgan School tested positive for COVID-19. Alberta Health Services has confirmed the date(s) of exposure to be March 25 and 26.
