One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

School Council

The Glendale School Council is a strong and active advisory body that is integral to our school’s operation and the success we achieve. The School Council works in a collaborative manner with the school administration and staff to significantly enhance the learning opportunities we provide for students. It also provides an opportunity for parents to learn more about the school, support initiatives and provide input. Once approved and released, the minutes of the School Council meetings are posted to this page.

Meeting Dates/Schedule

The School Council meets most months, in the learning commons from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend! This year, we are offering each meeting in person, as well as on-line via Microsoft Teams. The link to the meeting will be sent via email in advance. Our Calendar page also has meeting dates listed.
