Good Afternoon Lynx Parents and Guardians,
Once again thank you for your support and understanding as we experience more changes in our Covid protocols at school. As you know mask-wearing is now optional for students in school. As the weeks go by we are expecting there to be more changes. We are hoping to be able to resume offering sports and clubs to students, possibly before spring break, depending on the guidance we receive from the CBE and Alberta Education.
Teachers' Convention/Staff Association Convention
Every year at this time the employee associations of the Calgary Board of Education offer professional learning opportunities to their members. This is an important opportunity for teachers and support staff to share expertise and gain new knowledge to better serve students in our schools. For this reason, there will be no school for students on Thursday and Friday of this week. Of course, Monday is Family Day so there is no school on Monday as well.
Gym Strip
If your student(s) was in attendance today and had ordered and paid for LYNX Gym-Strip earlier this year, the students would have received their items in the Phys. Ed class. A receipt was attached to each package with a confirmation of items and sizes. If your student was not in attendance, they need to see their Phys. Ed teacher.
February School Council Meeting
The February G.P. Vanier School Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting Laurelle and I will conduct the annual parent engagement about fees, the school budget and the school development plan. Please join the meeting to make your voice heard!

Digital Citizenship
We are continuing our work on digital citizenship this month. This week students looked at how respectfully and responsibly interact, collaborate, and build relationships with others to create value in the digital and physical world. (Taught in Science and Math). Don't forget we are offering for parents an evening with Paul Davis on Monday evening at 7:00. A link to the session will be provided next week. More information here.
