Weekly Update April 28th

Hello Lynx families,

What a difference a week can make. The sun is shining, which has allowed our track and field teams to begin practices after school. Our students have been enjoying eating lunch outdoors and playing games with our outdoor equipment at lunch hour. The basketball tournament at lunch hours for the past few weeks will be wrapping-up and Intramurals starting again next week.

Also, May 2 - 8 is mental health week! The Canadian Mental Health Association has some articles and conversation pieces on their website (https://www.mentalhealthweek.ca/info-articles/).  If you have a moment you may want to check them out.  The staff participated in a professional development session this afternoon around anxiety in students, as this is something both Vanier and the wider CBE community are seeing an increase in.

On Wednesday (May 4) we will be having a “hats on” for mental health day.  Students are invited to wear hats as we recognize the role mental wellness has in society.

Please take a moment over this weekend, which should be filled with sun, to spend some time outdoors.

Bon week-end,

Chad Edmonds
